Transitions Program for New Students

The Avery Point campus offers a first-year experience program to new and transfer students. The one credit course covers University survival skills, e.g. access to technology, utilizing library resources, and other important things to know about UConn. Students are placed in these courses together with other students with similar academic interests, facilitating the development of study groups and promoting a social network. Students in the program are likely to have very similar course schedules, so there is a lot of overlap discussion in the Transitions Seminars about common academic issues.
